What distinguishes MediaWorks from traditional media training companies?

MediaWorks is a boutique media training firm that coaches executives on gaining the expertise and self-assurance to convey their messages powerfully through the media, leading to successful brand and reputation management with stakeholders. We are the media trainer of choice among both FORTUNE 500 and emerging company C-suiters, called upon to prepare executives for their highest-stakes communications needs.

Against a backdrop of a dramatically changing media world, MediaWorks gives executives a command of communications – every time, in every situation. Executives trained with our proprietary, immersion methodology quickly and effectively develop the talent – and techniques – of the communication masters of our time. Unlike other trainers, we don’t bore executives with jargon-ridden lectures or condescending slide shows. Instead, we put them in hyper-realistic scenarios to develop critical skills for varying media situations, including real-time social media.

We are large enough to have a time-tested command of the industry, but small enough to provide our clients with uncommon responsiveness. Some of our most loyal clients came to MediaWorks following less successful experiences with traditional consultants.

What is a “Resource Group?”

Although we’ve been serving clients for more than a decade, we are still committed to working only within our core competencies, as we feel strongly that to over-expand our offerings would be to compromise the quality of our services. When our clients desire services we do not provide (marketing, media pitching, press release writing), we happily call upon various trusted partner firms. As a resource group, we can offer our clients all the PR services they may need, without straying from our true mission.

Where do you conduct your training sessions?

MediaWorks’ offices are conveniently located in the Brentwood area of Los Angeles. Clients wishing to escape the distractions of their own offices are invited to attend training here. If it is more convenient, we are happy to come to your location, anywhere in the world.

Do you offer private instruction or group sessions?

Both. We train individuals, and groups ranging from 2 to 200. Because effective media training often involves the discussion of proprietary client information, we do not offer public classes or seminars. Every training session is client centric and highly customized.

What kind of media do you prepare your clients to face?

We’ve worked with FORTUNE 500 CEOs preparing for 60 Minutes, scientists appearing in trade journals, and small-town newsmakers being interviewed by bloggers. There simply isn’t any kind of reporter or media we can’t prepare our clients to face.

And for those whose communications strategy excludes reporters, we also provide highly effective coaching for social media platforms, from YouTube to Facebook.

What kind of follow-up do you offer clients?

Our motto is, “Once a client, always a client.” We offer unlimited follow-up training by phone regarding any issue covered during the original training.

How far in advance should I book my training?

Although we always try to accommodate last-minute bookings, optimum availability is most likely for training booked 4 to 6 weeks in advance. In order to simplify the scheduling process, we provide new clients online access to our booking calendar, which offers immediate and ongoing verification of our availability.
